The original cottage on the site was a very small two-storey timber framed and clad. Situated on the eastern side of Louisa Road, on top of a rock ledge with views. The house has had many 'do it yourself' alterations, smothering the eastern portion and leaving it structurally compromised.
The vision was to create a modern house enjoying the sweeping views, providing two bedrooms and given the location a precious and valuable garage.
The challenge was to strip back the 'additions', rebuild the eastern portion, open up the interiors, providing structural integrity, obtain Council approval.
The end collaborative result is a lovely vaulted and open living room with extensive views leading on to the eastern entertainment terrace. The views to the west, with cross ventilation and light throughout the day make this room the heart of the house.
