Jersey Place
6 Jersey Place, Cromer
Stage 3 is the completion of Maybrook Manor Retirement Village, which is bounded by a state forest and by the Riparian Zone of Wheeler Creek at Cromer.
The building was designed to dissolve into the natural environment through visual and physical linkages.
The building's form follows the contours of the land and is staggered down the steep sloping site. The two curved buildings frame a civic corridor linking the earlier stages of the retirement village with surrounding walking tracks. Biodiversity is encouraged through the landscaped roofs and landscaping around the building edges that manage overland storm water flows. Excavated material will be used to create a catchment pond, a refuge for the native wildlife.
