Elliot Street
Elliot Street, Balmain
The existing building was built around 1919 and is within a Heritage Conservation Zone in Balmain. The Heritage value being the front portion of the site and the rear was poorly constructed and conceived. We replaced the rear section with a modern pavilion. The pavilion was conceived as a single folded skin, acting as lungs to the existing building as it now allowed light and ventilation into the heart of the building. The wall folds into the roof and centered is a folded window/skylight. The new extension connects the living areas to the rear garden.
