Awaba Street
Awaba Street, Mosman
A series of vertical and horizontal planes were designed to step down the steeply sloping site. Cantilevered volumes protect openings. The rooms facing the water view of Middle Harbor are picture frames of view + light + ventilation = interior space. The first-floor master bedroom is an elevated lookout. Internalized courtyards break up the mass of the building creating new indoor/outdoor connections. The staggered planes reduce the bulk and scale of the buildings mass, opening up new visual linkages from the street and greater solar access across the site.
