Transforming what was originally a Tudor style house on an under-utilsed site
into a Palladian villa has created a home that is far more responsive to its
site and surrounding context.
The classical interiors were a result of a collaborative design process with
Cameron Kimber who designed and decorated the interiors.
New gardens were created on the basement level creating a private
recreation area comprising a lap pool and new lawn area. Fronting the garden is
the gym and media room with a classical staircase connecting to the ground
floor balcony and pergola.
The main entry was redesigned to have more presence with a new portico. New
living areas have been created on the ground floor which are designed to
capture views from the garden.
Redesigning the first floor has achieved a
master bedroom with generous walk in wardrobes enjoying easterly water views.
The children’s bedrooms and study capture northern light fronting March Street.
Rendering over the brick façade and using new moldings and a calm colour
scheme has resulted in a more dignified classical building.
