The modern design draws references of
Mediterranean architecture by its crisp white walls juxtaposed against the blue
Sydney sky; natural elements such as timber and planting have been incorporated
to naturalise the architecture. A reflection pond has been positioned to create
a focal point to the rear apartments north facing balconies as well as a point
of interest for the main entry.
The facade frames the internal environment.
It is only once one passes through the entry that the interiors open up to
reveal a luxurious world behind.
The mixed use development site comprises five
luxury apartments with a ground floor commercial unit adjoining a heritage
building. The facade design seeks to reinstate the heritage facade that had
been previously altered. The new facades proportions relate the existing
creating a new building that has enhanced the built environment.
